Below is the blog on proposal writing that has been put together over the last months in an attempt to capture proposal development lessons that we have been wrestling with for more than 20 years. It is a very rich resource indeed and is focused on practical lessons on who to do stuff and what to write and why – the ‘why’ aspects of each question are dealt with often in some detail and we reach back quite a lot to the philosophy of science, of the psychology of selling and persuading and into the field of rhetoric where we think it is helpful. We think this is the richest resource around for learning how to write and why certain things will win and lots of others will certainly lose. It applies to every proposal writing assignment under the sun and so is certainly useful when writing EU projects in the ERC and more widely in H2020. Please let us know if there are any questions about any aspects of this work – we would be very happy indeed to discuss any of it and would welcome the chance to learn about other ways of doing these things and other underpinning theories – please do get in contact.
